Rincon Church of God is a member of the Church of
God, which is one of the oldest and largest Pentecostal
denominations in the world, with international
headquarters located in Cleveland, TN.
Rincon Church of God was organized in 1961 with 8
members under the leadership of the church's first
pastor, Guy McLamb. The church was originally located on
Williams Street in a renovated house.
In 1971, the church purchased the present location and
built a new sanctuary. Since 1971, the church has
purchased additional acreage and has completed 4 major
expansion projects. Rincon Church of God now has a
membership of over 375.
In October 2007, the church began offering two morning
worship services to accommodate a growing
congregation. Reverend Wayne Merritt became the pastor
in 1983 and is now in his 24th year as Senior Pastor.
