Why Do We...?
Our worship is informal and spontaneous.
We believe in allowing the Holy Spirit to guide us. This belief is based entirely upon the
Word of God. It is our hope that this web page will help explain our form of worship. We ask
that you please read; Acts 7:48, Ephesians 2:19 and 1 Peter 2:5.

on high." 2 Chronicles 20:19

"And when they heard this, they lifted up their voices to God." Acts 4:24
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Play musical instruments as part of worship?
"Praise Him with the sound of trumpet; praise Him with the psaltry and harp; praise Him with the timbrel
and dance. Praise Him upon the high sounding cymbals." Psalm 150:3-5
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sing in tongues and in English?
"For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I
will pray with the spirit and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing
with the understanding also." 1 Corinthians 14:14-15
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Believe in Prophecy?
"But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation and comfort." 1 Corinthians 14:3
"But the manifestations of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal...to another the working of
miracles; to another prophecy." 1 Corinthians 12:7-10
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Speak with tongues and interpret those tongues?
"Wherefore brethren, covet to prophecy, and forbid not to speak with tongues." 1 Corinthians 14:39
"But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal...to another divers kinds of tongues;
to another the interpretation of tongues." 1 Corinthians 12:7,10
"I would that ye all sake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied; for greater is he that prophesieth than
he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church receive edifying." 1 Corinthians 14:5
"If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course, and let
one interpret." 1 Corinthians 14:27
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sing choruses as well as hymns?
"And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Holy Spirit; speaking to yourselves in
psalms and hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord."
Ephesians 5:18-19
"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms
and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord." Colossians 3:16
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pray corporately for specific needs?
"And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord Thou art God,
which made heaven and earth..." Acts 4:24
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anoint with oil and pray for the sick?
"Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him
with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord
will raise him up and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him." James 5:14-15
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have this type of worship?
"But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth for
the Father seeketh such to worship Him. God is a Spirit; and they that worship him must worship Him in
spirit and in truth." John 4:23 - 24
"For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus and have no
confidence in the flesh." Philippians 3:3

Some Spiritual Terminology:
The Anointing -The presence and the work of the Holy Spirit in a person's life.
"But the anointing which you received of Him abideth in you..." 1 John 2:27
To Minister - To serve or help another by the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
"...But our sufficiency is of God; who also made us able ministers of the New Testament..."
Corinthians 3:5, 6
The Glory - The manifestation of God's presence and splendor to man's spiritual and physical senses.
"And it came to pass...that the cloud filled the house of the Lord, so that the priests could not stand to
minister...for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of the Lord."
1 Kings 8:10, 11
Revelation - Our understanding of God's will and purpose.
"Wherefore I also...making mention of you in my prayers; that, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father
of Glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him..."
Ephesians 1:15 - 27
Edify - To build up.
"Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the
church." 1 Corinthians 14:12
The Body - The Church, the Body of Christ on earth.
"For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are
one body; so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or
Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. For the body is not
one member, but many, if the foot shall say, because I am not the hand, I am not the body; is it therefore not
of the body?" 1 Corinthians 12:12 -15
Spiritual Gifts - Supernatural abilities given by the Holy Spirit to believers.
"Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. Now there are diversities of gifts,
but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are
diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is
given to every man to profit withal.
For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; to
another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; to another the working of
miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to
another the interpretation of tongues.
But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. Follow
after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy."
1 Corinthians 12:1, 4-11; 14:1
